Despite my trepidation on getting some stuff service due to previous reviews, I was surprised with it being on point. We opted for the tasting menu and dishes came at a decent pace with the drinks almost instantly when ordered. Everything was seasoned well and delicious, the dessert being totally fantastic. Highlights were the beef and the ceviche. Luckily we decided to ask our host to pair the dessert wine and it was perfect ending to our Boxing Day dinner. We were also fortunate to be seated away from the very raucous crowd downstairs, so thank you Inka. Loved it and definitely recommend it was some fantastic fusion food and ambience.
The food here is tasty and the flavours are unique. Each dish has a very distinct Japanese Peruvian twist. I had the tasting menu. The sashimi and sushi were fresh, as were the oysters. The vegetables were tasty but I found the wagyu left a bit to be desired. The scallops were amazing. Service was good. The staff were knowledgeable and explained what each dish was. The restaurant has very nice interiors. Parking is available in Canberra Centre.
Beautiful restaurant. Very good experience. We got the tasting menu. All dishes were yummy, well presented and faultless. The staff provided prompt service even though the restaurant was full. Definitely recommended for Japanese Peruvian flavours.
On our recent visit to Canberra, we had dinner at INKA. I have to say that it was one of the best meals we've had in the recent past. We could not fault a single dish we had ordered, on its flavor, presentation or quality.
Looking forward to going there again.
Decked out with style befitting Justin Timberlake, this place is ready to take the Canberra world by storm. But, as you can see from the score, there are problems, though not fatal, cause for pause. The maitre d' has a stream of smoke coming from her ears before she allows us to have a table that isn't right next door to her lectern. The service is friendly and kind, but bistro level. Drinks are twice forgotten, so the glass of wine arrives after the entrees have been eaten. No meal check, and the bill delivered without being called for. My enquiry as to where the beef short rib comes from..."Sydney"...ill return to my hometown tomorrow, and keep an eye out for grazing livestock. The beef itself is really well handled, but the much needed acid and spice of the promised jalapenos is sorely lacking. Similarly, absent is the promised kombu in the otherwise pleasant daikon salad. The Bonito should be written as flakes, not inferring the fish. The raw snapper dish is very good, as is the yellow tail nigiri. Tragically, the eel pieces would be rejected in the most routine Japanese izakaya. Scrawny and dry, at this level, they should be smoked fresh to order, or at least on premise. The dessert was clever enough. This place could be really very good with a little work...by work I mean someone who knows the inside of the daily grind of restaurants as well as whomever did a great job on the outsides, and food design.
My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary on a Monday night. We tried one of the set menus and everything we had was amazing! My favourites were the truffle tuna tostadas, the potato crisp huancaina and matcha cheesecake, which …
Absolutely amazing, we decided to try as we really liked pastuso's take on Japanese/Peruvian food but this place is a whole different level. The tostadas, snapper tiradito, the octopus, the chicken (best chicken breast I've tried in my life …
